Principal's notes…

New faces, New Year, new challenges. A primary learning opportunity for the students at Rising City Public Schools is to solve problems. Some are figuring out how they can get all of their school work done, others are expanding their academic experiences including college courses or classes offered via distance learning, many are working on social skills with other students or teachers and still a few are figuring out how everything works. Even though a lot of the growth students experience during a school year does not show up on a report card, there is much that is learned along the way.

I have the honor of talking with many students on a daily basis. I greet them at the door, I see them in the halls, I help them with classes and occasionally I help them work through issues that arise. Teachers and other staff members are doing this also on a daily basis. I have personally witnessed many times when staff members are actively working with students on problem solving… whatever the problem might be.

The Rising City staff does a great job of working with students through experiences. Many great strides are made during the year that add tools each student can use as they negotiate through life. And it is reciprocated… staff members learn lessons also as we work with these young people. I know I have learned a lot during my time here at Rising City Public Schools. I look forward to learning more in the years to come!

Thank you for allowing us to work with these young people.
